The Hopper Family began singing as a trio in early 1985.  At that time the group consisted of Zula Hopper, her son Doug and his future wife Nancy. They continued singing together until 1990.  At that time Ronnie Hopper, Doug's brother, joined the group in place of their mother.  Sister Jean Bruce has also sung with the group at times ever since.  In 2008, Jason Hopper, the son of Doug and Nancy began singing with the group.  Each member of The Hopper family are members of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, NC where God has blessed with the priviledge of allowing them to sit under the ministry of Preacher Wade Huntley.  It is the belief of this family that, through no merit of their own, God has molded their lives first, through being born again, and then through the hunger for the Gospel that comes from knowing the Savior.  Through the years, God has seen fit to use the talents that He has given this family to encourage the saints, to witness God's mercy, and to try to be a help to His servants as they lead the churches in which they labor.

In the 1980's, God began moving on Doug Hopper to write songs and as others encouraged him to do so, the Lord gave more.  Churches and groups have sung these songs now for several years. In the last few years many have began requesting sheet music for their choirs.  The desire of this family is to magnify the One that by His will, saved them and has given the opportunity to praise His name in song.
